Emergency
Assistance Unit
26" x 39", mixed media.
Emergency Assistance Units have the
responsibility to put people up for
the night and are mandated to to
find housing within 24 hours for
people who have lost their homes
through fire, bad maintenance,
and eviction. After a few days, and
with an inundated system, people
will be released to shelters and the
streets since temporary housing is
in very short supply. The shelters
may not be in their neighborhoods
and thus finding the displaced
proves extremely difficult.
